Welcome to Travel-Hax!

I would love to answer any questions you may have to help you to achieve your travel dreams and reach destinations you never thought you could at a significantly reduced price.

Here at Travel-Hax, we outline ways to decrease the cost of your airfare and hotel stays (yes, even free!) so that you can travel more often on a shoestring budget.

For the past 4 years, my husband and I have flown all over the world and stayed at luxurious 5* hotels for ~90-100% discount.  We were both students (I’ve just graduated, but my husband is still in school) traveling on every holiday from university.  We’ve been to Japan, India, Italy, Prague, Ireland, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Spain, Morocco, Mexico, and all over the U.S.  We’ve literally travelled around the world once.  We’ve done this by cashing in miles and points through lucrative credit card sign-up bonuses, jumping on fat-finger mistakes, and submitting Best Rate Guarantees (BRG) so that we could travel as much as we could before we were committed to full-time jobs.

Right now, my husband and I are living in Scotland.  Miles and points are not nearly as lucrative with credit card bonuses when compared to the United States (I’m talking 100k sign-up bonuses with British Airways and American Airlines), but there are still ways to see the world outside of the miles and points model.

This blog is dedicated to directing you to deals, tricks, hacks, and fat-finger mistakes so that you can travel a lot more for a lot less.

Travis and I in Venice, Italy for a quick birthday weekend celebration. We jumped on mistake fares from Newark, NJ to Milan, Italy and got our tickets for less than $100 round trip. We BRG 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza in Milan, then used points to stay at the Hilton in Venice for free!
